Case Study: Doctor’s Best Rebrand—A Fresh Perspective

As the Creative Director at Lightbulb Creative Agency, I led the rebrand for Doctor’s Best dietary supplements in 2020. Our goal was to refresh their identity and elevate their positioning in a competitive marketplace. This project gave us the opportunity to reshape the brand from the ground up, infusing it with new energy, a compelling story, and a bold visual style that resonated with consumers across multiple platforms.

Brand Identity & Storytelling

Doctor’s Best had a long-standing reputation for quality but needed a more contemporary, emotionally engaging identity that connected with modern consumers. We began by crafting a new brand narrative rooted in moments of personal triumph and health empowerment. The campaign, aptly titled “Hello Moment”, captured the essence of seizing opportunities to take control of your health and wellness. I directed, wrote, and produced the video, which premiered during the Tyson/Fury fight—a high-profile moment that aligned perfectly with the energy and ambition of the campaign.

The impact was immediate. The video amassed over 4 million views during the event, generating incredible brand exposure and engagement. The success of “Hello Moment” demonstrated the power of storytelling in elevating a brand, turning a simple dietary supplement into a symbol of personal empowerment.

Packaging Redesign

Simultaneously, we overhauled Doctor’s Best’s packaging. The existing design felt dated and didn’t reflect the brand’s innovation or quality. We focused on creating sleek, vibrant, and visually engaging packaging that stood out on shelves and communicated trust and efficacy. Every design element, from color palettes to typography, was carefully chosen to evoke health, vitality, and science-backed reliability—core aspects of the Doctor’s Best brand.

Social Media Elevation

In today’s world, a brand isn’t just what it says, it’s how it interacts. To amplify the rebrand, we crafted a comprehensive social media strategy that humanized the brand and brought it closer to its consumers. We focused on creating engaging, value-driven content that spoke to wellness enthusiasts, athletes, and everyday people looking to enhance their health. Naming the Brand

We wanted a name that was concise, modern, and tied directly to the idea of expert endorsement. “Recomnd” not only evokes trust but also speaks to the simplicity and clarity that consumers crave when making health decisions. The omission of vowels gives the name a sleek, contemporary feel, perfect for the brand’s target audience of wellness-conscious individuals.

Branding & Packaging Design

From the outset, it was crucial that the brand identity reflect the professionalism and scientific backing behind the products. The branding for Recomnd was designed to be minimalistic yet powerful—clean lines, bold typography, and a calming color palette that signals both health and trustworthiness.

Packaging design followed suit. Each product in the Recomnd line is housed in modern, premium packaging that clearly communicates the benefits while standing out on the shelf. Web Design

We extended this modern, trustworthy feel to the Recomnd website. The site was designed to be user-friendly, educational, and visually engaging. It features a clean layout that guides visitors through the product offerings with ease while highlighting the credibility of Dr. Beltran as the company’s chief formulator. We strategically positioned content around the “doctor-recommended” concept, with Dr. Beltran’s story and medical expertise taking center stage.

The website’s design also incorporated seamless e-commerce functionality, ensuring a smooth customer experience from product discovery to purchase. With a focus on intuitive navigation and mobile responsiveness, the Recomnd site quickly became a cornerstone of the brand’s digital presence.
